Short version: this website doesn't intentionally collect personal data about you.
This Website
Nothing, intentionally. This site itself has no user accounts, no cookies, and no analytics or tracking scripts of any kind. Browsing it doesn't create a profile of you, and nothing you do just by browsing is recorded or shared with anyone. The one thing on this site that does collect information is the Sign Up form linked from our Contact page, covered separately below since it isn't hosted by this website.
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify's servers process basic technical information (such as your IP address) simply to deliver pages to your browser. We don't access or use this information ourselves, and it isn't used for tracking or profiling.
The only other personal data involved is what you choose to send us yourself, for example, if you email castletownhockey@gmail.com to ask about joining, or castletownhockeywebsite@gmail.com to report a bug on the site. That's an email you've chosen to send, handled the same way any email to the club would be, and we won't use it for anything beyond replying to you.
Signing Up
The "Sign Up" link on our Contact page takes you to a Google Form. That form is hosted and processed by Google, not by this website, so Google's own privacy policy governs how it's submitted and stored on their end. The form asks for details including your date of birth, telephone number, emergency contact information, any relevant medical conditions or allergies, membership details, and, for players under 18, parent or guardian consent. This information is shared with the club so we can process your membership and keep you safe while playing, and is used by the club for that purpose only, kept separately from this website the same way any other membership paperwork would be.
Fonts
The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which involves your browser making a request to Google's servers. Google doesn't use this to set tracking cookies, but your browser does share basic technical information (like your IP address) with Google as part of that request, the same as any web font or image hosted elsewhere would.
Social Media Links
We link out to the club's Facebook and Instagram pages. Once you click through to them, you're on Meta's platform and their own privacy policy applies, not ours.
Beyond The Website
Castletown Hockey Club holds some personal information about its members and players, the kind of thing any sports club needs for membership, team communication and junior safeguarding (including DBS checks for coaches and volunteers working with juniors). That's handled by the club directly, separately from this website, and isn't collected or stored anywhere on this site. If you have questions about how the club holds your (or your child's) information, contact our Welfare Officers or the committee at castletownhockey@gmail.com.
Changes
If that ever changes (for example, if we add a contact form or visitor analytics in future), we'll update this page to reflect it, and add a cookie notice at that point if one becomes necessary.
