Shin pads and a gum shield are essential from day one. Trainers are fine to begin with. You don't need a hockey stick for your first few sessions, just come along and we'll point you in the right direction.
Yes, no experience needed. Whether your child has never picked up a stick or has played for years, there's a place for them across our Under 10s, Under 12s and Under 15s.
No. Hockey sticks are used right-handed only, regardless of which hand your child favours elsewhere. That's a rule of the game, not a club policy, so there's no special stick to buy.
MHA rules allow it, subject to coach assessment and parental/guardian consent. Speak to your child's coach or our Junior Co-ordinator if you think this might suit them.
Sophie Phythian is our Junior Co-ordinator, and also the club's DBS Verifier. See Contact to get in touch.
Castletown follows the safeguarding policies and welfare guidance set out by the Manx Hockey Association and England Hockey. See Policies & Safeguarding for the full detail.
See Membership Fees for the latest pricing.
Yes, the junior section runs on volunteers, from matchday helpers to lift-sharing. Get in touch via Contact and we'll find something that suits.
